Set an exact wall angle, define a separate room, move grouped items with Lasso, and use snapping for alignment.

This guide covers final editing controls for correcting a wall angle, assigning a room its own definition, moving multiple sketch items together, and snapping geometry back into alignment.

Before you begin

  • Select the wall whose angle needs to change.
  • Determine the required angular offset and the side toward which the wall should move.
  • Identify the shapes, labels, and features that should move together before using Lasso.

Workflow

1. Apply an exact angle adjustment

Enter 45 degrees in the angle input when a 45-degree offset will make the selected wall perpendicular to the reference wall. Select the correct side and Mobile Sketch places the adjusted wall automatically.

2. Create a separately defined room

Close the room boundary if needed and assign its own definition, such as Below-grade level. Move the room label into the newly defined area so the exhibit remains clear.

3. Select multiple items with Lasso

Choose Lasso and draw around the exact items to include. Make the lasso boundary as precise as needed to exclude nearby geometry or annotations.

4. Move the selection together

Release the lasso to create the grouped selection, then drag the selected shapes, labels, and features as one unit.

5. Use snapping for alignment

As selected geometry approaches another line or compatible point, snapping aligns it to the target. Move away to disengage the snap and return to the target to snap it back into place.

Field notes

  • Angle offsets are directional. Select the side that produces the intended relationship to the reference wall.
  • A lasso selects everything inside its boundary, so zoom in when nearby items must remain excluded.
  • After moving grouped geometry, verify snapped connections, area definitions, labels, and calculations.

Final review

Before leaving the assignment, confirm that the geometry matches the field measurements, every closed area has the correct definition, labels and features are readable, and the calculations reflect the intended report treatment. Use manual sync and verify the updated sketch in the web application.
