Before you begin
Open the correct report and confirm you are sketching the intended subject, dwelling, unit, or related structure. If the sketch will support GLA, exhibits, or report commentary, keep your field notes, measurements, photos, and assignment requirements available while you work.

Start in the correct sketch context
This section explains how to duplicate and copy shapes when you want to reuse an existing shape on another canvas or in the current canvas.
To do this, you select this to get into the select state and select Command+C on your computer, and you can see it is copied. Now you can select Command+V, and then there we are, and it is copied there. For example, you can delete that.
Check each shape before moving on
Or another alternative is you can what you call duplicate. You can just click this and press this duplicate button, and that's going to always toss it to the side so that's not going to be like intersected with the current shape.
Keep the canvas organized
But back to this copy thing. If you want to click this and press Command+C and bring this over to, For example, another canvas, The basic workflow is click to the canvas that I want, navigate into the area that you want to put it, and we'll just paste it here.
There you go. If I also want to continue to duplicate this in here as well, you can select this duplicate button and really create as many of these as I want. That's how the duplicate and copy function works in AIVRE Sketch.
Practical workflow
Select the shape to copy, duplicate it, and move the duplicate into the correct position on the canvas.
Update labels, definitions, and measurements on the duplicated shape so it reflects the new item, not the original.
Review calculations after duplication. Copied geometry can save time, but copied labels or definitions can create report inconsistencies if they are not updated.
